WAVA Small Grants Selection and Assessment Criteria

We are pleased to announce that the selection process for the second round of the WAVA Small Grants Program have been concluded. An initial screening of all applications received based on the eligibility criteria and window of application, yielded a total of 60 eligible applications.

Accordingly, 5 internal teams were created to review and score the applications based on the criteria mentioned in the RFP. Each proposal was assessed by two internal reviewers. Following a review of the first assessment, 16 proposals that met the pre-established cut-off mark were sent for further assessment by an external review panel comprising 5 experts on immunization advocacy at IVAC headquarters in Baltimore, USA and 5 high profile Nigerian advocacy experts.

The results from the external review were analyzed, then compared to the internal scoring using three different arithmetical techniques – to verify the results, provide a consistency check and identify the highest 4 scoring organizations. The three arithmetical techniques are:

• An average of the external review score with the two internal review scores (3-score average)
• An average of the external review score with the highest internal review score (2-score average)
• An average of the external review score with the closest internal review score (2-score average)
